An Unlikey Reunion.......................

It was very queer,
That a pal who was dear;
Met with the same fate
As I did at an earlier date.

He looked so pale,
And he had a tale;
That proved his innocence
And made great sense.

Alas! I have spent years,
With very little cheers;
But he’s such a poor bloke
Who looked so broke.

His fate was similar
To mine which was bitter;
That I spent very few days
Not soaking my eyelids.

Here was my good friend,
Whose worries had no end;
That it was my duty
To assist him duly.

But still it seemed queer,
That a pal who’s still so dear;
Met with the same fate
As I did at an earlier date.

  1. Hi Uday,
    Very good piece! You are so deft in handling the rhymes. Life's a circle, either we find ourselves where we started or somebody else in our own place. The pity of a prisoner on his own friend who met with the same fate as his own is shown very effectively. Nice emotions! And the refrain you used at the last coincided with the narrator being reflected in his friend's state. Keep penning.

    As our friend said before, you are pretty good at playing with rhymes.
